Many people love doing work to their nails such as trimming them to a specific style, or being creative with some type of design, but did you know that there is actually more than one type of manicure? Ridge Manor residents who have ever gotten their nails done by a nail tech at a salon might have only been exposed to a basic manicure, but there are many more styles and prepping options for your hands and fingernails. If you are getting tired of one look for your fingernails, try switching to one of these different types of manicures for a different look and feel.
French Manicures
French manicures are a lot like the basic manicures that people are used to getting, but they are stylistically different. With a French manicure, Ridge Manor residents will have their fingernails prepped as usual, but this style is quickly recognizable by the solid white polish along the tips of fingernails. Usually the base of the nail is covered with a clear, pink, or sometimes beige color, but this is up to the individual. There is also the popular reverse French style, where instead of having white nail polish on the tip of the fingernail it is located on the base.
Gel Manicures
Many people do not like the look or feel of acrylic nails, or they are simply getting bored of the style, but luckily there are other types of nail polish. When someone is getting a gel style nail polish, they have to be cured under UV light with a gel manicure. Ridge Manor residents should be aware that gel nails usually last longer than that of traditional nails and nail polish. The only difference between a gel manicure and that of a basic manicure is the fact that you have to place your hands under special light which is not needed in a basic manicure.
